Okolona emergency dentist
If you ever experience dental trauma, you should immediately contact our office, Napoleon Smiles. Our
Okolona emergency dentist, Dr. George Cochran, can provide complete emergency dental care for patients who have dental trauma.
When you experience dental trauma, time is of the essence. The longer it takes to have dental treatment, the less likely it is that the tooth will be saved. Sometimes our patient will have a tooth completely knocked out of their mouth. When this occurs, the tooth is said to be avulsed. If this should happen to you or a member of your family, immediately pick up the tooth by its enamel portion, if it can be found, and try to re-insert it into the socket. If this cannot be done, our dental office will give you instructions on how to safely transport the tooth back to our office in a glass of milk or water. It is important that you contact our office immediately so that our dentist can see you as soon as possible. The time that the tooth spends out of your mouth can make a difference between a tooth that can be successfully reinserted, or a tooth that will need to be replaced with a dental bridge or implant. Several weeks after the tooth trauma, our Okolona emergency dentist will most likely need to perform a root canal surgery to save the tooth. Another common dental trauma is when a tooth is dislodged. This means that the tooth has been pushed back into the gums. In this situation, you will also want to come to our dental practice as soon as possible so that our dentist can successfully reposition the tooth. Sometimes, when this occurs, our dentist will be able to reposition the tooth and no additional dental treatment will be needed. However, there are cases when the tooth will need to have a root canal treatment several weeks after the dental trauma has occurred.
